Douglas Fir needles — soft, dense and deep green

Why Douglas is the tree most people grew up with.

Douglas Fir grows fast and full, which gives it the soft, rounded, storybook shape and keeps the price down. It is the tree that smells like Christmas the moment it comes through the door.

Branches are softer than a Noble and full from floor to top — plenty sturdy for a family's ornaments and lights. We carry it from tabletop size up to twelve feet.

Good to know

How long does a Douglas Fir last indoors?

Up to five weeks with a fresh cut and daily water. Keep it away from vents and fireplaces. Keep it watered and away from heat.

What sizes do you carry?

Three to twelve feet, the widest range we have. The big trees sell fast the first weekend.

Is Douglas Fir good for heavy ornaments?

Douglas holds a family's ornaments beautifully — dense branches, lots of lights. If your collection leans heavy glass, Noble's stiff tiers are the specialist Fir.

Do you carry Fraser Fir?

We carry Noble, Nordmann and Douglas Fir because those are the three we know cold. They come off our Oregon farm and onto our Texas lots fresh all season long, and keeping the lineup tight is how we keep every single tree on the lot worth buying. Three firs, all of them good, no filler.
